It was warm and humid overnight, with a brief four or five minutes of downpour shortly after midnight, followed by a light drizzle on and off through the rest of the night. It’s now 5:38 a.m. and there are heavy clouds out on the horizon, the pre-dawn colors have already faded, leaving only shades of gray.
I hope that a picture really is worth a thousand words, because that’s about the word shortage that I’m facing this morning and I’m hoping to recover by sharing this photo taken today at 6:31 a.m. at Swanzy Beach Park in Kaaawa. It started raining about 15 minutes later as we were down the beach and considerably farther from home.

Yesterday we met a pair of geriatric canines I just refer to as the “new” old dogs, Ikaika and Bonzai, both sweeties. Click on their photo for a couple of extras. Today’s informal biscuit count–We were out for just over an hour, twenty dogs got their treats, several others were missing and presumed sleeping in, and one pair was passed up because the older dog hasn’t been feeling well. The count can be higher or lower on any given day.
In any case, it’s Sunday. Time to whip up the weekend’s egg white omelet.
