Sunday…trying again.

Amanda It was wedding time again yesterday. This time it was Amanda, one of our former neighbors’ twin daughters. This time around they had a pair of pro wedding photographers, so I just took my cameras along to fill in the gaps or watch for informal moments that might escape the formulaic wedding photos. In my first pass through the run of photos, this is my favorite. I probably have to work on the most pleasing crop and best conversion to B&W, but it caught a great moment. The wedding was in the Tagami-Powell Gallery and Gardens in Kahaluu, with reception following in the Kaaawa Room at the Koolau Golf Course. Great setting, by the way, and, for future reference, quite a nice buffet banquet service.

By the way, have I mentioned enjoying the new blog by Star-Bulletin photographer Richard Walker? I’ve always admired his photos, and now get to read how he goes about getting those great shots. Only a couple of entries so far, but I’m looking forward to more.

And in other  news setting things a twitter at the Star-Bulletin, webmeister Blaine Fergerstrom is taking leave, again. He announced his departure a couple of days ago in fine style. It’s a shame that this second time around the Star-Bulletin wasn’t any better at respecting Blaine’s skills. I’m waiting to hear where he’ll be landing next.  He deserves a great spot to do his work.

And still on S-B news, Pacific Business News reported Bulletin owner David Black has purchased another five newspapers in Washington State for an undisclosed price.

Okay, now that it’s 4 p.m., about 10 hours past my normal daily launch time, I’ll just post this and save anything else for tomorrow. Hopefully there won’t be a repeat of this morning’s outage for a while.
