Monday…Six word memoirs, foreclosures, doodles, and sunrise through the vog

April 21st, 2008 · No Comments · Dogs, General

If you got a “Forbidden” message here earlier this a.m., you weren’t alone, but my hosting service sorted it out quickly once I reported the problem. Whew.

Here’s one that caught my eye yesterday–a solicitation for six word memoirs. What a great writing exercise! If you can express your life history in six words, you’ll probably be able to write a concise lead.

And here’s something completely different–a review of the foreclosure situation in various parts of the country. Now a pretty picture. Note down at the bottom the discussion of homeowners who just walk away from the debt and their homes.

Golden Doodles

We stopped at VCA in Kaneohe on Friday to buy cat food, and ran into two women loading up a batch of puppies for a vet visit. I thought they called them “Golden Noodles” but an online check later in the morning turned up the “Golden Doodle” name.

They are part-Golden Retriever and part Standard Poodle. And they are cute!

Even this hardened cat person could think about taking one of these little guys home, but I wouldn’t want to think about the reception it would get from the home crowd.

Sunrise

Last week’s layer of volcanic haze created some great sunrises. This was the view one morning when the vog layer was particularly thick.

Ah, the legislature is counting down to adjournment next week. Not a moment too soon.
