The storm that swept through Kaaawa between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. left at least one downed tree, lots of broken branches, and damage to fences and temporary structures.

One family camping at Swanzy Beach Park stood among the wreckage of their tents, looking like tornado survivors. They said the tents were damaged in a short, 15-second burst of wind.
