Had to break the cycle of abuse. Incredibly unreasonable. Sexist, racist, embarrassingly closed minded. I strive to be everything he isn't. I wouldn't want to know his festering memoirs. I have a wonderful father-in-law. I have other men in my life I admire. The void has been filled. Haven’t spoken to my father in more than 20 years. Had to break the cycle of abuse. I saw my father for the first time in 25 + years this past summer. My family in California "Surprised me!" Believe it or not... I had to walk out of the room. To make a long story short, I'm thankful I didn't do to him... what I wanted to deep down inside. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Meda! At least you can be in the same room with your father.
