As they say, the best camera is the one you’ve got with you. When Wally and Toby took refuge together last night, New Year’s Eve, in front of the stove displaying one of our Christmas presents, my best camera was my iPhone.
Cats do not enjoy fireworks. The first distant pop sends Ms. Kili scurrying under the bed or into a dark place in the back of a closet. Annie disappeared and much later emerged from under a chair in the living room. I found Toby hiding behind our bed. Wally would slink from room to room looking for refuge. Duke squeezed himself into a cozy spot in the bedroom.
Silverman, Romeo, and Harriet were the most at ease through New Year’s Eve.
In any case, here are the last our of cat photos for 2009 and the first for 2010 (the last of the bunch was taken at about 5 a.m. this morning).

A sip of Benedryl or Melatonin calms pets down.
Maybe so, Burl, but my dog Perl would have needed the entire bottle for any relief.

Thanks for sharing, Ian. Feline Fridays is one of the highlights of my week. I not sure if I’m proud or ashamed to say I can name ‘em without looking at your cutlines! And I do have something of a kitty crush on Silverman. Looking forward to a whole new year of furry faces
