Leading off this Feline Friday is Ms. Kili, short for Kahekili, named because she was rescued from the town-bound lane of Kahekili Highway where she had been dumped from a moving car. When we found her, she was rolled on her side in a defensive position as if those little kitten claws would challenge the oncoming cars. Her sister, Wally, was another couple of hundred feet farther on. Another driver had stopped to get her off the road, and eagerly handed her over to us when we stopped to ask what had happened. He was the one who told us that someone had been dropping kittens out of their car. There were others, but they ran for cover and weren’t found. We turned around and headed back to our vet, Doug Hooks, for a kitten check. All was well. That was January 1998. Kili and Wally are now our senior cats, although we think Silverman is about the same age.
In any case, just click for this Friday’s charming felines.

So appropriate for Ms. Kili to be today’s Feline Friday star… I see her every day on my wall, being January’s star too… It was great how you marked the cats’ rescue dates on the calendar. I didn’t notice that part until I was hanging the calendar.
No “felines in the rough” this week? Too wintry outside?
I absolutely love Ms. Kili! I was sad to hear how she got her start at the Lind household, but am so glad that you opened your house and your hearts to the gray sisters so many years ago! Thank you.
