As promised, here’s installment #2 from the backlog of our Kaaawa morning dogs. These are dogs we meet and become friends with that happen to live along the route of our daily walk to the beach and back at dawn.

This is a relatively rare picture of Paco and Lucy, a pair that are usually in continuous motion and hard to track with the camera as we walk past their house. Both are more interested in smelling other dogs on my fingers than in the offered dog biscuits. I have to buy a special box of small MilkBones for these two, since they have a hard time with pieces broken from the big Kirkland variety. Lucy will usually eventually gingerly take a biscuit and run back to the lanai. Paco usually stands back and just watches, although occasionally he’ll come right up for his own serving. They are hard to figure.
