I spent one day catching up with Mike Sullivan, an old friend dating back to our grad student days at UH.
Their property is located on a 3,000 year old lava flow, one of the last flows to reach the Hilo area. This
is a part of the yard, featuring specialty bamboo Mike's been planting.
