Okay. It’s not quite Christmas yet. But I’m guessing a lot of you won’t be checking in here for the next few days, so best get my seasons greetings in while I can.
Yesterday we squeezed in a viewing of “Up in the air”, the new George Clooney movie. It was actually a very good movie, quite a comment on our times, on masculinity, etc. Well done, great visuals, good acting. Also very disquieting. Highly recommended.

Here’s a little “found” photo taken a day or so ago on our morning walk. A mirror left out for the taking opened up a different window on Kaaawa, and allowed me to get into the picture as well.

Mele K. to all uh y’all.
Speaking of movies, I just took in and am mulling over the Coen Brothers’ “A Serious Man”. There was an interesting review, a clip, etc. in the NYT, which convey some of the flavor:

In today’s NYT, Nicholas Kristoff offers some excellent information about some well-run charities laboring in obscurity that would be excellent choices for your Christmas gifting . As Kristoff says, “a deworming pill will never be regifted.”

Merry Christmas from the snowy mountains of northern Washington state. Christmas fills the air the world over. One of the most magical Christmases I can remember was on Ponape, in the FSM. It’s not location, it the magic in the heart.
