Spotted at Antique Alley: Vintage Frank Fasi

We stopped in at Antique Alley yesterday afternoon. It’s one of our favorite browsing places.

There I spotted this classic bit of island political memorabilia, an original cartoon by Honolulu Advertiser cartoonist Harry Lyons, dated September 1970, when Fasi was preparing to take over the bus system serving Honolulu and reshape it into TheBus.

It has the caption in what appears to be Lyons’ handwriting, as well as printed below.

I didn’t measure it, unfortunately, but it is probably something like 20 inches wide.

It’s a classic piece of Hawaii and available at Antique Alley for just $58. They’re located on Kapiolani Blvd just in front of Ala Moana Center.

If you need help finding them, click here for map and directions.

Fasi. a “real piece of work” . I admire what he DID… do FOR our Oahu, but dayum. He was so against the efforts of the food, lodging and hospitality industry. Something he should have supported. Ask Weaver. And Kelley.
