This letter from environmental watchdog Carroll Cox is circulating this morning.

To: Lt. Governor Duke Aiona

Mayor Mufi Hannemann

City Councilman Gary Okino

Senator Norman Sakamoto

From: Carroll Cox

Date: April 28, 2010

The purpose of this letter is to respectfully request that you denounce and disassociate yourself from the International Transformation Network, Hawaii Transformation, Transformation Hawaii, Harvest Evangelists, Mr. Ed Silvoso, and any other of his related organizations and associates. We have learned that Mr. Silvoso’s organizations are closely associated with the President Yowerie and First Lady Janet Museveni of Uganda, a nation currently considering legislation to execute individuals affected by HIV and aids, incarcerate homosexuals, and require citizens to report other citizens of that country that are suspected of being homosexual.

I am saddened and offended by your appearance in videos showing you praying with Uganda’s first lady, participating in seminars, contributing to editorials for these organizations, and otherwise supporting and furthering the goals of Mr. Silvoso and his organizations.

For your reference and convenience I have posted video and editorials relating to the above at http://carrollcox.com/show042610.htm

Mr. Carroll E. Cox

Mr. Cox supports Neil Abercrombie and regularly presents biased and misleading information to further that cause.

Whatever else you might want to say about his spin, his information in this case was correct. There were problems. The mayor has acknowledged at least some of them and will not take the money raised. I’d say, based on the record, Cox can’t be so easily dismissed as you would suggest.
