Here’s a shameless plug for next week’s “Barefoot Broadway” fundraiser to benefit Neil Abercrombie’s campaign for governor.
Friday night, May 21, 7:30 p.m. at the Hawaii Theatre.
We’ve got our tickets.

The list of co-chairs of the event makes interesting reading. Not the typical list heavy with contractors.

Meanwhile, the Abercrombie campaign is circulating a table from a recent Honolulu Advertiser poll, which offers some interesting and suggestive tidbits.
• Neil has a greater margin over Mayor Mufi on the neighbor islands than on Oahu, despite Hannemann’s greater past experience outside of Honolulu.
• There’s a clear gender gap, with Hannemann holding a 37%-31% lead among men, but Abercrombie ahead by a greater 40-28 margin among women.
• Neil holds a double-digit lead among those who say they usually vote Democratic, a good sign for him in what will be a heated primary.
• And despite the hoopla over Mufi’s rail plan, Neil holds a 40-30 lead among those who report a union member in the household.
Unfortunately, the sample size is not big enough to really yield clear results for the various sub-groups. Note the large margin of error for most categories, which mean that while these results are suggestive, they really can’t be relied on. Too bad.
