Another quick look at Djou’s contributors

Turning to Charles Djou, the newly elected member of Congress from the 1st District.

I did two quite compilations.

The first lists the top contributors combined using the name of the contributor. The second list takes a slightly different approach by combining contributions from those listing the same employer. You’ll see both similarities and differences.

By contributor’s name:

Contributors by name

Then by reported employer:

Contributors by name

And here’s a partial answer to the question about contributors who hedged their bets: They do exist. I’m feeling my way along with the database softward and haven’t done a thorough search, but just eyeballing the data turned up a few donors/groups who gave to both Hanabusa and Djou. Further browsing/analysis will likely turn up more.

Walt Disney PAC (Hanabusa, $5,000; Djou, $5,000)
The MacNaughton Group (Hanabusa, $6,800; Djou, $7,700–$2,400 returned)
Kobayashi Group officers ($3400 to Hanabusa, $6,500 to Djou–$2,400 returned)
Kobayashi Sugita & Goda (Hanabusa, $1,250; Djou $1,750)
Kusao & Kurahashi (Hanabusa, $4,600; Djou, $1,000)
Royal Contracting (Hanabusa, $3,400; Djou $500)

Thanks, Ian. I hope you do this for every legislator, mayor, governor that runs for office in Hawai’i.
