Okay, this may be a little late for the celebration of the East-West Center’s 50th Anniversary, but…
I found it in a box with some other remnants of my life in high school today while crashing around in a closet looking for things to throw away.
It’s an original program for the ground-breaking and dedication, with Lyndon Johnson, then vice-president, in attendance to do the honors. The program includes then UH President Laurence Snyder, Governor William Quinn, the UH concert band (Richard S. Lum, direcor), etc.

I wonder if the EWC has an original?

Is this title: “Out of the closet….” meant to allude to the East-West Center’s role in recruiting spooks?
The university archives at hamilton library has photos from the event in the Masao Miyamoto University photographer collection (but not digitized as yet)
