This week we received our authors’ copies of the new book, “The Value of Hawaii: Knowing the Past, Shaping the Future“.
This should mean that the book is now available for delivery, or will be delivered momentarily.
I’m told that an ebook edition is coming, although I don’t have any info on availability or how/where to order.

I am hoping this book can have an impact in the framing of the issues facing us in the 2010 elections.
So far, the Governor’s race has not engaged on this level. I believe all the Democratic candidates for Lt Gov would be capable of engaging in such a discussion, but will our dysfunctional political system engage them in this way?
Picked up a copy of “Hawaii 2000 – Continuing Experiment in Anticipatory Democracy” edited by George Chaplin & Glenn Paige published by UH Press in ’73 at Native Books in Ward Warehouse on Thursday. Based on a conference on the Year 2000, essay contributors tried to forecast 25 years ahead. An earlier exercise along similar lines as this. Unsure how well it stands up – or stood up 10 years ago.

32% off on Amazon. If it does have an e-addition, it would be nice if it were available on something besides just Kindle, unless you just want to talk to American audiences.
No listing on the Hawaii State Library site yet.
I’ve talked to the state library, and I know that at least 24 libraries have put in orders for books. Cataloguing takes time, which is why the books don’t appear immediately on the shelves.
