I walked down to the beach just before the tsunami warning was lifted and the roads opened to traffic.

The ocean was a little “different” but there were no signs of destructive waves overnight.

It was, all in all, a beautiful morning.

But homes in Kaaawa were largely empty, roads clear. Most of the dogs we usually see were not around.
