Actually, this little video is just a little short of 90 seconds, but it will give you a taste of the weather out here tonight. It’s the third day/night of thunderstorms. We’ve hunkered down for the night. I hope all the cats are in, but we can’t find them all. Amazingly, the power has stayed on. Go, HECO!

Wish I could say the same about Mauna Kea Summit! HELCO took lightning hits on the main line over the saddle. No power to the observatories much of the afternoon and evening. Backup power is holding out, but cooling is gone. I just spent the last hour shutting as much gear as possible down via remote.
Nice video and you managed to do a better job than the local rag. All they have in todays paper is a long brief buried in the local section!
A pretty horrific experience in Kailua, too. We are grateful that the power remained.
After online criticism of the SA online story and photo of Palolo Stream closeup, taken saturday morning, they have replaced the photo with an Ad!
I would say print journalism and their online versions have reached a new low here, maybe I should say “print” journalism here is dead?
