A trio of cats welcomes you to this week’s Feline Friday. This was the scene around 8 a.m. this morning.

It was the sound of dishes in the kitchen that set off this expectant food vigil. Kili abandoned her spot down in the bedroom and suddenly appeared. Duke came out from behind the chair where he usually hides in the morning until it’s clear that we won’t try to stuff him into a carrier and take him to the vet. He has a long and vivid memory when it comes to vet visits. Romeo didn’t have to come very far, though, because he was already hanging around hoping for another handout. Officially, breakfast had been served nearly three hours earlier, but begging for more never hurts.

Annie took off after breakfast today, so she’s the only one of our eight cats that doesn’t appear among today’s Friday Felines.
