This little guy found himself in back of our new house in Kahala. Kealaolu Avenue. He’s scared, obviously lost, very shy.
Male, Bichon Frise. Dirty feet, so he didn’t just wander from next door, or at least didn’t run away just this morning.
We’re going to check if he’s chipped.
Don’t know whether to turn him in to the Humane Society or not.
What are the options, dog people??
I did turn in the Humane Society’s “found animal” form, with photo.
Please pass the word, and I would appreciate any suggestions.

Oh, gosh! What a sweetie pie! If I were you, I’d hold off on turning him into the Humane Society. That is, if you can keep him around your cats. I think advertising him on your website might find his owners–or at least someone reliable who wants to adopt him. I guess whether or not he is chipped will help one way or another.
Not chipped, unfortunately!
You can always turn him in under a ” finders want ” at the Humane Society which mean if his owners don’t show up and he is deemed to not be adoptable ( which I can’t imagine ) then they would call you to come adopt him. It is the safest way to handle a found animal and would give you ( at the very least ) time to figure it out. Personally, I think a cute little white dog might do you good !
If this was Kailua – most post lost/found dogs on MyKailua Facebook page. Many fur-babies and owners are reunited through social media. Does Kahala have a main community Facebook page?
Actually what you need to ask for is ” Finders want – if not adopted “. You can just explain to HHS that you want to make sure he goes back to his home OR to a new home but if that is not going to happen that you will come and pick him up. They will know what you are talking about.

You’ve moved to Kahala??? Who’s going to take pictures of the Kaaawa sunrise every day????
I have a friend who lost her Maltese a year ago and is now ready for a new dog. If you are interested please email me.
Mission accomplished! Dog reunited with his people, thanks to a quick connection via the Hawaiian Humane Society. Thank you, HHS.
Great news! Now let’s all say a prayer they take better care of him from now on and make sure he can’t get lost.
Out of curiosity, was it the one I linked to above? That one seemed to have a friend, also lost.
No, it wasn’t that one. But it was one of those we had to check out!
Re: “our new house in Kahala”
Have you moved, or still transitioning?
We’re still in the processing of morphing ourselves into town people…the transition will take a bit longer.

And thank you, Ian. This is wonderful news and it’s an excellent way to start the day. HHS takes a lot of heat, but people run to HHS when they need help and HHS provides that help.
Without donations and assistance, there is no HHS and innocent pets are lost forever. You don’t know what you’ve got until its gone.
Kahala?? Kealauou?? That’s multi-million dollar territory my friend. Welcome to the 1% that you used to rail about!! you’re in the club!!! LOL
My parents purchased the house in 1942 for about $5,000. They bought the fee interest from Bishop Estate back in the 1980s with help from us. It was definitely not million-dollar territory then. The neighborhood around the house had definitely changed, as you say. But we’ll be sitting in the shade of the mango trees planted when my sister and I were born. You can’t buy that kind of connection to the place.
Ian, I’m so glad to hear the dog made it back to its people! Good show!
