Due to circumstances beyond my control…

Today’s Feline Friday photos will hopefully get posted later this afternoon, and I may–stress “may”–be able to complete a post or two over the weekend.

But this has turned into a very stressful time. We’re making changes in my sister’s medical care, which require setting up the finances to support them, while supporting her during a difficult time.

I’ve already taken a sabbatical from my weekly Civil Beat column in order to deal with the family stuff.

Hopefully this will all settle down soon and I’ll get back to something like normal.

In the meantime, I’ll trying to keep in touch here and via Facebook as time permits.

Two ideas, in view of your earlier post regarding drawing blood and getting it to a lab.

    1. Consider having her live in either assisted living or nursing home, where all such activities will be coordinated by staff.

    2. Consider hospice, which is completely free under Medicare and which can take place either in a residential hospice facility or in her own home or in an assisted living facility. Hospice will coordinate everything and provide nursing care and case management. Many people do not realize that hospice is not necessarily a place where a patient lives, but rather a plethora of services that are provided at whatever place a patient is living.

here’s something to cheer everyone up:

Trump talking with Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood” in 2005:
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.

“I did try and f— her. She was married,” Trump says.

Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”

“I moved on her like a b—-, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”

    game over.

Trying to help a loved one is sometimes difficult, but something we do willingly. I’m glad for all of you that she moved back to Oahu and is nearby. My thoughts and prayers to you, your sister and your wife.

I read what you write every day. Even if I don’t comment. So do lots of people I know who are too shy to comment. So, I’m sure everyone supports you.

If you have questions or require some assistance just post it. Lot’s of smart and resourceful people read your blog. Aloha

Don’t forget to take care of yourself as well, Ian. You can’t help others if you get sick or burned out. Will say a prayer you and your kin.

Looks like you have a lot of folks who value what you share and who empathize with your situation. Thank you for your sharing and allowing us to have a sense of community with you. We wish the best for you, your wife and your sister as well as the felines. And thank you for sharing the cats.
