There were piles of assorted wreckage strewn around Waialae Beach Park early this morning, the remnants of yesterday’s holiday celebrations.

In some spots, trash was left around overflowing garbage cans, but in other areas it was simply strewn around. A lot of debris ended up in the stream, as you can see in these photos.

It seems a shame that we celebrate our public life by ignoring our civic responsibilities, leaving our messes for others to clean up.
