Over the weekend, while in Portland, we toasted Ms. Wally on the second anniversary of her death.

She collapsed on the floor in the kitchen of our Kaaawa home just after 5:30 a.m. on July 9, 2015. She was a most wonderful cat, rescued as a kitten (along with her sister, Kili) after being dumped from a moving car along Kahekili Highway near Temple Valley. Read more here–“And now we are five.”

Meanwhile…The cats were no worse for wear after their “vacation” from our presence this past week.

But they seem to have been happy to see us when we returned last night.

There was more than usual interest in sleeping on our bed or elsewhere in the bedroom last night. Apart from that, though, today was business as usual for the cats.
