I’ve found myself backed up today.
I was delayed yesterday while waiting for a call back while I was working on my weekly Civil Beat column. That ended up requiring me to finish it up this morning, which in turn left me too late for a first-thing-in-the-morning appointment.
So I’ve been at home this morning catching up on minor but nagging chores.
I expect my CB column won’t be available until this evening, and I’ll post a link when I see it.
Meanwhile, did you catch the New York Times story yesterday on the bad blood between the president and Senator McConnell (“McConnell, in Private, Doubts if Trump Can Save Presidency“).
This morning, the Washington Post responded with this–“Trump and McConnell try to tamp down talk of growing rift“.
But the Post added another story that highlights how Trump continues to make McConnell’s position more and more difficult (“Trump’s demand to build border wall could upend sensitive negotiations on Capitol Hill“), and this assessment (“Trump might manage to lose every ally he has“).
It’s just not possible to keep up with everything that’s happening, so much of it not good for any of us.
