Yesterday’s email included a press release from ‘Olelo Community Media announcing its schedule of election-related programming.

The missive, from Deborah Sharkey of Makana Communications, arrived at 7 a.m., July 10.

The 1st Congressional District forum will be Sunday, July 22 at 7 p.m., while the Gubernatorial forum will be Sunday, July 29 at 7:30 p.m. Organized in affiliation with Hawai‘i Public Radio, the 1st Congressional and Gubernatorial forums will be held at the station’s Atherton Studio.

Today, about 10 a.m., came this update.

Due to scheduling conflicts, the Gubernatorial forum referred to in our news release on July 10 and scheduled to be cablecast by ‘Olelo on July 29 has been cancelled. Our apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

There must be a story there. Shouldn’t voters get the full story?

The old “scheduling conflict” excuse doesn’t suffice.
