Our on again-off again wait for Hurricane-Tropical Storm-Tropical Depression Olivia left me short of feline photos for the week.

So I’m retreating into the past again. Annie’s kitchen photo was featured recently, so here’s Duke’s opportunity.

The following post was originally published in 2012, when Duke was 10, and we were still living in Kaaawa.

So, from 2012:

Mr. Duke, our big (too big), beautiful tabby point Siamese who turned ten earlier this year, welcomes you to another Feline Friday.

We rescued Duke’s mother, who we named Cybelle, from the home of a classic cat hoarder at an undisclosed location on our side of the island back in early 2002. Duke was one of three kittens born just about 60 days later.

So…among the treasures that turned up in the bag of old videos that I’ve been in the process of digitizing is this little 90-second segment of Duke as a kitten. Judging from his size, this was likely late in July or early August of 2002, and Duke was discovering the joys of housecleaning.

Cameo appearances are made by Ms. Wally, who looks much like she does today, and by Ms. Cybelle, who the camera catches a couple of times. Duke’s coloring today matches that of his mother.

In any case, it’s a short video and a nice way to end what has been a stressful week.
