The Kali Chronicles update

The Kali Chronicles, continued…

Yesterday Kali finally discovered that sometimes there are birds out on the back deck. She spent a long time bird-watching, marked by occasional chattering and whisker-twitching. She had to make periodic activity that required her closer attention.

Look closely at this photo and you’ll see a couple of mynahs on the railing in the background.

Ian: Perhaps only cat lovers would enjoy your Kali chronicles, and I can’t help following it. We adopted a little two month old kitten to keep our 1 year old cat company and went through a “familiarity” process, which was agonizing since we had to keep little kitty in a bedroom, but they did play for hours under the door. Now “best buds”. The first time I saw the teeth chattering and chirping sounds, I thought something was wrong with our cat, but I researched it and as you are probably aware, it is an instinctual action that cats use to disguise their approach to birds that they are stalking since birds have poor eyesight but good hearing. Thanks for sharing adventures of Kali.

Amazing how domesticated felines still keep their original DNA in so many ways…as predators! I love watching my cats stare at lizards -without moving a muscle – just outside the screen door separating them for what seems like hours!
