A minute with Mr. Marbles

Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then one-minute of video is worth…well, a lot of words.

Anyway, rather than describe Day 2 with The-Cat-Currently-Known-As-Mr.-Marbles, I’ll share this minute from earlier this morning. He was under the futon, which is where he has spent much of the time since I brought him to his new home mid-day on Easter Sunday. This morning, I lay down on the floor in order to reach in and say hello. As you can see, he welcomed the contact! It looks like we’re going to be buddies.

Awww. that’s great. As long as he can get along with the other cats, this should go great. His friendliness and temperament are good signs.

Mahalo nut for sharing this video! I can’t wait to see how he interacts with his mom. I hope Romeo isn’t feeling edged out.
And I hope you come up with another name for him!

He is indeed a sweetie! You are so gentle with him — what cat would not want a pet? By the way, our recently acquired cat, Bruno-Blackie-Baby — was one I chipped as a kitten, lost him when he moved on, had to reclaim him a few months ago (not having any relationship except a chip from neuter/release back when) from HHS or “else” — turned out to be FIV+ from his time on the road. We kept him in the bathroom for 3 weeks trying to find a home, terrified of what might befall our other 3 indoor cats. We could not put him outside because he’s a carrier. Gradually I was convinced he was not that dangerous. As a former veterinary nurse, I was of the old school that they cannot be kept with other cats. Well, he has integrated just fine and is now household member with full privileges. So glad you took this little guy in.

So happy to see you took this little sweetheart in, in spite of it all. He is a gentle and loving addition and will make a great companion for Kali and Romeo…. I too, hope you will rename him. He’s really a beauty!

He seems like a real sweetie. I’ve had 3 male cats and they all have been lovebugs! Personally I love the name Mr. Marbles and hope you decide to stick with it.

PS – I was just up at the Keaiwa Heiau State Park the other day for pizza with friends. I grew up in Aiea Hts not far from it and as kids we had scavenger hunts, pancake breakfasts and hiked the Loop Trail many a time. Good memories. It’s a beautiful, quiet and peaceful respite from the day-to-day worries of life.
