Kali was out and about this week, while Bessie retreated a bit more. Kinikini is always pushing his weight around.

One thing I’ve discovered is that Kinikini is not shy about letting me know that I’ve forgotten to serve the dish of dry cat food. Meals start with a few spoonfuls of canned food. Bessie is a fan, Kinikini sometimes eats it, and Kali usually turns her nose up. Round 2 is a scoop of dry food for each of them in separate locations. But sometimes when I get busy cooking, or when I forget the dry food before our morning walk, Kinikini has a routine. He seems to turn into a very sweet cat who just loves me, walking back and forth over my keyboard, across my lap, rubbing his face on my beard, and occasionally drifting over for a quick nip on my arm. He can be sweetly annoying. It often takes me too long before I realize that this is his “FEED ME” act and jump up to get it done. One of these times I’ll have to ask Meda to take a little video while he’s doing his begging act.

One thing–he’s silent. No meowing while going through this routine. Perhaps that’s a leftover from life in the outdoors. Previous generations of cats did the routine of crying and getting entangled in my feet when I would approach the kitchen. These cats, not so much.
