Morning reflections

Here’s another photo worth sharing, taken earlier this morning.

I took a photo of the coconut trees in Waialae Beach Park reflected in the water of Waialae Stream.

Then I flipped it upside down, so that the trees now appeared as if you were looking directly across the stream at them.

The stream shimmers a bit in places, giving the trees a mysterious aura.

Anyway, it shakes up the perceptions.

Hi Ian. Off topic for this post but you may remember when you wrote about doing your taxes that I commented about having to file extensions amid the current turmoil at the IRS. Sure enough, I received a letter from the IRS denying the extension for business taxes because it wasn’t received on time. I mailed it on time and got proof of mailing from the PO, but the bureaucrats are using the date it was received a week later. Even with the slow mail right now a First Class envelope should have arrived sooner, so they are actually going by the date they opened it and stamped it.

I am livid. I had to file the extensions because of health problems and I nearly killed myself getting everything done by the various deadlines. I DID NOT get proof of mailing for the personal estimated taxes (due a different date) because I didn’t have time before the PO closed that day. I’m sure they will find some way to ding me for those too.

Now I have to spend the time to do the IRS’s job for it and correct their error. It will be very difficult for me to restrain myself from telling them all about their incompetence and the reasons for it, but I won’t because I don’t need more problems.

Nothing like this has ever happened before. UGH!

Great picture! A different perspective of palm trees and makes you forget about things like taxes! Thanks for sharing.
