I assume, perhaps incorrectly, Ian, that this refers to your previous posting about genocide. If so, I agree….and apologies for not replying sooner. Of course it is genocide and of course the US will do nothing to stop it.
A long-distance friend of mine and one of the world?s leading experts on genocide from the days when I was writing about it, A. Dirk Moses, and I were discussing it long distance well over a year ago while he was circulating an open letter of protest among colleagues. Then, as now, all any of us could do was sign such petitions or, as you are doing, speak out among those we know. The fact is, nothing and no one is going to stop it. These a bad times indeed.

Life is so challenging right now for everyone with less than a billion dollars in the bank. I will never understand why those who have more than they could ever need seem so intent on taking EVERYTHING away from others who are just trying to live their own lives. So often in the name of God, which is really just a cover for their greed.
I have had my own challenges lately and discovered a website called warmline dot org. According to the site this is what they do :
“Warmlines (also known as peer support warmlines or peer-operated behavioral health warmlines) are phone, chat, or text lines that provide empathetic listening and peer support to individuals who may be experiencing distress or loneliness, or those seeking validation from a peer with lived experience who identifies with their concerns and can offer a confidential and non-judgmental space for connection and self-directed exploration of possible solutions and alternatives.”
Their services are always free, staffed by volunteers and some have paid peer counselors. We don’t have one accessible to everyone in Hawaii but several of them take out of state calls. I’m noticing a lot of generalized anxiety and depression out there so thought I would drop this here in case anyone in need stumbles upon it.
Hang in there fellow humans. Things will change again like they always do. Maybe not in my lifetime but I remain optimistic for the younger generations, because they are gonna have to make it happen.
