Did you happen to live in Kahala back in the 1950s, perhaps attend Kahala Elementary School? Or know someone else who did? Then please take a look at the photo below, and pass it on to others who might remember names to go with faces.
A new Cub Scout pack had been organized at Kahala School in 1955, the year after the school opened. Pack 116 met for the first time in October 1955. My mother had volunteered and was the den mother for Den 1, which I was part of along with several friends who lived on our street.
In February 1956, a father-son dinner was held and immortalized in the photo below.
Location? I don’t recall. Perhaps the Waialae Country Club or the Outrigger Canoe Club.
My father and I are sitting at the first table on the left, most of the way to the rear. My face is only partially visible, looking for someone else’s head. At the very front, left, is my good friend at the time, John Saul, with his dad. Next to us, Dewitt Robinson and father. Across the table, the second father-son duo is my friend Fred Yuen and his dad.
I see several other kids I think I recognize, including Bill Peters, Chad Dunstan, and Mac Lawrence. as well as many who look familiar but whose names are lost in the mists of my memory, at least for now and without further memory prompts.

It’s interesting to note father/ son similar characteristics.
I don’t recognize anyone, but the photo is wonderful.
