#4. This is Lindsey, also once a rescued kitten. He's feeling a little besieged by all the newcomers, so we're trying heavy doses of special attention.
He has learned to negotiate the cat door of one neighbor, and the windows and sliding doors of a second. So he is also a guy about town.
#3: Buster. We had to have some debate over the order of acquisition, but we've decided that Buster is third in seniority.
He is without doubt the dominant male, but not the dominate cat, in the household.
He's doing ok after his cancer surgery of a couple of years ago that left him with one short ear.
#2, Hiwa, just moved in on us a decade ago after her family moved away and left her behind.
We're just past the 1-year anniversary of her liver infection, but we've won a series of battles with it and she's hanging on. She's actually gained back some of the liver function, and that's let her get back a little weight. I had a hard time getting a picture of her yesterday, because she was happily rubbing back and forth on various parts of me and refused to stand still.
And #1, the senior cat, Ms. Miki. Rescued on Christmas Day, 1986, and inheritor of Windfola's ranking as top cat.
