COLLECTIONS: DISHES

We started picking up plates at thrift shops after Meda stumbled on some LuRay pastel plates, and Ian liked them. From there it's been a slippery slope. By now (July 1999), we could serve dinner each night on a different set of dishes and not have to repeat ourselves for more than three weeks.

The cats also like mealtimes, as our various pictures show. That's Lindsey (above) posing as a table decoration.
And when he moved, we served.

(right): A large Fiesta platter and assorted backup made a fun lunch.

Southern Potteries made beautiful floral patterns handpainted under the glaze.

We found this set of floral design plates in a thrift shop in Redwood City, California, for $14, then paid twice that amount to mail them all home.

Dinner was always a favorite time for Kua. Is this the cat bird seat?
