Every morning since early 1996 we've been getting up before dawn in order to walk to the beach on the other side of Kaaawa to watch the sunrise. Somewhere along the way I started sticking a few dog biscuits in my pocket and rewarding friendly dogs along the way. The list of the favored "few" has steadily grown and now my daily stash requires a canvas bag and frequent runs to Costco for warehouse-size supplies of those dog biscuits . And we don't even have a dog of our own!
