1
The moutain in the distance quickly gives away our location--Portland, Oregon.
2
We avoided the $30 cab ride by taking Portland's light rail from the airport to downtown, where the stop was a block from our hotel.
3
Good urban design, with the park blocks that run through downtown.
4
Portland is a city with lots of old buildings, many now being restored.
5
The huge Palmer-Wirf collectibles show filled three huge exhibit halls like this one as well as a large outdoor area.
6
Portland's rail system, now 20 years old, is getting a downtown facelift that, for now, has construction spread across several downtown streets.

8
Lots of urban color.
9

10
Finding restaurants nearby is always a challenge, but we're usually up to it.
