I found this scene during a family weekend in Monte Rio, a small community in Northern California. The overflow from a thrift store made a colorful addition to the empty lot next door. I was struck by the interesting twists of inside/out, images/reality. The mural catches attention with its depiction of a forest scene while the real forest barely intrudes from the background, and the furniture and rack of clothing transforms the outdoors into a replica of an interior space. I found it intellectually appealing. Maybe I'm the only one.
