| Ian's favorites of 2003: Technical note
All of this year's photos were taken with a Canon G2 digital camera. I don't use filters or add-on lenses. The photos are then transferred to a Powermac G4 desktop computer. Cataloging and indexing is done with iView MediaPro, which I've used through several version upgrades. Canon images tend to be a bit "flat" straight out of the camera, and I use Adobe Photoshop to tweak image contrast and color saturation, and to add some digital "sharpening" where needed. Most of the online galleries are generated with iView, although occasionally I'll make one using Photoshop. I'm looking forward to the crop of new digitals in 2004 and hoping there's something tempting enough to trade up. So far, though, this G2 has been by far the best of the five digitals I've personally used, and each generation has been better than the last. |
