The Kids: Duke and Toby

Duke went to the vet this week, his first visit since last October. He tipped the scales at over 13 pounds, double his weight on the last visit. He's a big, very handsome guy with Siamese markings that continue to darken with time. Mis mother, Cybelle, would have been very proud of how he's turned out.

Duke has, in turn, "mothered" Toby, the most recently adopted kitten, and has done it very well, thank you.

And Mr. Toby is growing up to be a most satisfactory cat, the result of both the hand-feeding during his early weeks and Duke's watchful attention.

I can vividly recall when I thought one cat was plenty, and believed two cats would be way too much. Obviously, that was a long time ago, both in years and in attitude. Nine now seems perfectly normal.
