| The group was a mix of Hawaiian supporters and haole peace activists, including Jim Albertini (in aloha shirt on the far side, just to the left of what appears to be a directory with a glass front). On Albertini's left (to his right in the photo) are Mary Neilsen, Barbara Jensen, Rose Brennan (?), Leigh Simmerer, and Quaker activist Elaine "Woody" Schwartz, all active in the Vietnam War era peace movement in Honolulu. That's Ritte on the left with head bowed, wearing a lei. He's standing between Emma DeFries and his attorney, Clayton Ikei. Ritte's sister, Scarlet, is on the far right.. |
