| This bit of political theater was part of a broader effort by the American Friends Service Committee and catholic Action of Hawaii to stimulate public debate about the dangers of the nuclear arms race in general and, in particular, the presence and storage of nuclear arms here on Oahu. After touring the island with a slide show about nuclear issues, a change of pace sounded like fun. And so it was that we designed a fake nuclear convoy and proceeded to drive the route between Waikele and Pearl Harbor used by the real things. More photos to follow soon. -Photo by Ian Lind |
