To me, it looks like a child facing the right, holding her doll. There were numerous stories about the children of this family (Carrie McGavock's children) and I'd gather that some of them are still around.

You all know me and understand that I'm giving you the straight facts when I say that this picture is just as I took it.

The people at Carnton are taking a look as well, with much interest.

I can't help but feel that the 'little girl' came out because Charlotte was around, and she brought her dolly along.

I grew up in the area - my mother's family hails from Nashville/Murfreesboro, TN. She used to spend her summers in a house much like Carnton, with its own ghosts, who were at worst a nuisance to be told to 'shoo'.
