"Me P.Y. Chong"
Famed restauranteur P.Y. Chong opened Lau Yee Chai in Waikiki in 1929.

He did business with Dohrmann Restaurant Supply Company and was a personal friend of Sam Wong, manager of the store when my father arrived in Hawaii in 1939.

"There is but one Belly God and you are his prophet," says the hand-written inscription on a photograph given to Wong.
