The Methodist Student Center at the University of Hawaii offered the men sanctuary. On Friday, October 15, 1971, the men took refuge in the Wesley Foundation building.

Wesley Foundation was a center of other peace activity, and also made office space available to catholic Action of Hawaii, a highly visible pacifist group led by Jim Albertini.
