My first winter
Whitman College Walla Walla, WA. December 1965 Photos by Ian Lind It wasn't like back home in Hawaii, where "cold" means the temperature is getting down below 70 degrees. Now I was cold. Of course, I was already cold when I arrived in Walla Walla in early September and raced out to buy a coat and a pair of gloves. They guy in the store asked me what kind of motorcycle I rode, since why else would you need warm clothes that early? In any case, recent Whitties might enjoy these photos because they show how much the campus has changed in 40 years, and those not-so-recent alumni might just like to recall what it was like back then. |
