After leaving the 7-11 and its friendly "no loitering" warnings, it was over the Pali to Honolulu and the next stage of the adventure. Meda dropped me downtown and headed off for the first set of thrift shops, beginning with Holy Nativity Church in Aina Haina, then stopping at Star of the Sea, and the Beretania Goodwill. M: This translates into a GREAT thrift shop run. Found a fair number of goodies and enjoyed the women's space that these largely volunteer, recycling operations are...and the money goes to good causes to boot.Meanwhile, I visited the Hawaiian Historical Society library in hopes of finding clues about a recent eBay purchase, a painting signed with the initials "GHM" back in1924. I have a plausible but so far unsupported theory about who the artist could be, but 90-minutes of sleuthing through 80-year old clippings and letters didn't turn up anything promising, although there are several more sources to review at the library before looking in other directions.
Next stop: rendezvous at Antique Alley.
