If you grew up in the in Kaimuki, Palolo, Kahala, even out to Aina Haina before 1980, the Kaimuki Theater was probably part of your life.
And its demise at the beginning of 1982 was a milestone. At least it was for me. I spent Saturday mornings in the 1950s at the theater's Porky Pig Club. And the end my 8th grade year was celebrated at the Kaimuki Theater. Ted Lampard should remember that one. And we went to movies at the Kaimuki until it was closed.
