The Kaimuki Theater was part of my life from small kid time, through high school, and into adulthood. The Saturday morning Porky Pig Club was a staple as a kid in the 1950s, and as young adults Meda and I used our UH student I.D.s to qualify for the special "student" ticket rates, which I recall being rediculously cheap. The demise of the theater was the end of an era.
