This is Ms. Kili, one of the senior cats.

She and Wally have been in our household the longest, having been rescued and adopted in January 1998. But since Romeo and Silverman were adopted as adults, I can’t say with confidence that Kili and Wally are the oldest cats in the house.

In terms of literal calendar, Kili was the first cat to be rescued. Subsequent rescues, including Silverman and Romeo, may be about the same age.

Kili is still the alpha cat who gets here way on most important things, although she doesn’t have the undisputed position of power that Ms. Miki used to hold. Although Kili now qualifies for senior services, she still gets respect, even from the big guys like Romeo. They won’t mess with her.
