Yup, it’s happened again. It’s Friday, and our Kahala felines are ready to sacrifice their personal privacy for your mental health.
It’s high anxiety time in our feline-centric household.
On the one hand, trimming the mango trees allows more sun to warm the cats during their afternoon naps. They immediately recognized the difference and are taking full advantage of it.
Annie is somewhat stable, although some days she doesn’t seem to feel as well as others. We were warned that the kidney issues will likely cause nausea at some point. I don’t think we’re quite there again yet, and when we do get there, well, I’m not sure what we’ll do. Right now, we’re buying raw fish to tempt her appetite, which has worked well so far. And we’re keeping her hydrated with subQ fluid daily. It’s been more than five weeks since she came back from the hospital, and at that point I thought she only had a few days to live. So this is all a plus.
Duke is still kind of in a fog. Kitty dementia, I believe, wrapped around his long-term diabetes and chronic sinus infection. It’s amazing he has survived all this for so long.
And then there’s Romeo…He’s addicted to sleeping in my lap. It seems reassuring to him when he doesn’t feel quite right.
A day at a time in our feline household.
Enjoy the photos.
